Even with a crisis in local news and 2/3 of newsroom jobs eliminated in the past few years, the Baltimore Banner celebrated their second year in June with 49,000 paid subscribers and 80 journalists in the newsroom focused on local news for Baltimore and the surrounding area.
The Banner is a not-for-profit news organization – there are no shareholders so profits will go right back into the journalism. 20% of their revenue is from local foundations donating to the organizations. Watch the video to learn more...
